In early September 2024, many of the dental world’s brightest minds gathered in Zurich for Nobel Biocare’s annual Key Expert Meeting. Dr Larry Benge and Mr Robert Dulieu were invited to attend this event with around 60 other leaders in dental innovation.
As leaders, Larry and Rob brought their expertise in Digital Workflows and Implant Design to this meeting, to share these insights with the worldwide dental community. The sharing of these insights sought to create a world more informed and more effective in the practices of dentistry. This event is about fostering collaboration on the future of dental implants and restorative treatments.

Dental Innovators Who Attended the Key Expert Meeting
Dr Alessandro Pozzi
Dr. Alessandro Pozzi, an internationally recognised expert in implantology and prosthodontics, was recently listed among the top 2% of scientists in the world, according to Stanford University.
Dr Pozzi has been in practice since 1997 and is currently a clinical researcher in surgical navigation and advanced dental technologies at the University of Rome Tor Vergata.
A real standout in the dental community, it was a great experience for the Next Smile Australia team to further their relationship with Dr Pozzi.
Dr. Marcus Blatz
Prof. Dr. Markus Blatz is Professor and Chairman of the Department of Preventive and Restorative Sciences and Assistant Dean for Digital Innovation and Professional Development at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. He is a widely published and world-renowned lecturer.
Additionally, Prof. Dr. Blatz was named one of the World’s Top 100 Doctors in Dentistry.
Dr. Paul Weigl
Dr. Paul Weigl graduated from the University of Munich Dental School in 1989.
He runs R&D projects to develop effective and minimally invasive therapy concepts for predictable aesthetic results borne on implants.
Dr. Michael Danesh-Meyer
Dr. Danesh-Meyer has been involved in preclinical and clinical research involving GTR/GBR, rhBMP-2 and dental implants, authored numerous articles and has lectured both nationally and internationally on these subjects.
In 2000, he established the Institute of Dental Implants & Periodontics and the Auckland Clinical Training Centre in Auckland, New Zealand. He lectures for gIDE/LLU master clinician program and is actively involved in teaching periodontics and implant dentistry.
Dr. Joe Mehranfar
Dr. M. Joe Mehranfar’s practice is limited to full arch implantology in Phoenix, Arizona.
Dr. Mehranfar has placed over 10,000 implants and has completed over 2000 All-on-4® treatments. His focus is on advancing the digital workflow for the All-on-4® concept. He has mentored over 1000 U.S. licensed dentists on dental implant surgery.
