Whether you’re living with advanced gum disease, failing teeth or removable dentures, understanding your treatment options is the first step towards restoring your smile.
What Are Full Arch Dental Implants?
Full-arch dental implant treatment – such as All-on-4®and Overdentures – is designed to replace an entire upper or lower row of teeth using a small number of strategically placed dental implants.
Rather than replacing every missing tooth individually, four titanium implants are placed within the jawbone to support a complete arch of fixed prosthetic teeth. This approach provides greater stability and function than traditional removable dentures while helping patients enjoy a more comfortable and confident lifestyle.
At Next Smile Australia, our Queensland clinicians use the proven MALO Protocol, regarded internationally as the gold standard for full-arch rehabilitation, to provide predictable long-term outcomes for suitable patients..

Full-Arch Dental Implants Queensland FAQs
What are full-arch dental implants?
Full-arch dental implants are treatment options designed to replace a full set of missing, failing or severely damaged teeth in the upper or lower jaw. Rather than replacing each tooth individually, dental implants are used to support a complete arch of replacement teeth.
There are different approaches to full-arch treatment, depending on your dental health, bone structure, lifestyle and individual needs. These may include fixed solutions such as All-on-4® or removable implant-supported overdentures.
All-on-4® dental implants use four strategically placed dental implants to support a full arch of fixed, natural-looking teeth. By positioning the implants to make the most of the available bone, All-on-4® can often reduce or eliminate the need for more complex procedures such as bone grafting.
Overdentures are removable dentures that are securely supported by dental implants. Unlike conventional dentures, which rest primarily on the gums and can move or become loose, implant-supported overdentures are anchored to implants for greater stability and retention.
Both approaches can provide a more stable alternative to conventional dentures and are designed to help you eat, speak and smile with greater confidence.
The right solution depends on your individual circumstances. A comprehensive consultation, including clinical assessment and 3D imaging, will help your dental surgeon determine which full-arch treatment options may be suitable for you.
Can All-on-4® replace my full dentures?
Yes, All-on-4® was original design for patients who’s only options were dentures or traditional full mouth dental implants.
The All-on-4 treatment concept is a full-arch dental implant solution designed to replace an entire upper or lower set of teeth using four strategically placed implants to support a fixed bridge. Unlike traditional dentures, which sit on the gums and can move or require adhesives, All-on-4® teeth are fixed in place and secured to dental implants. Some benefits of All-on-4® over traditional dentures?
Stability
Traditional dentures rest on the gums and may shift when eating or speaking. All-on-4® is anchored to implants, providing significantly greater stability.
Comfort
Dentures can cause sore spots or rubbing over time. Because All-on-4® is supported by implants rather than sitting directly on the gums, many patients find it feels more secure and natural.
Function
With dentures, chewing efficiency can be reduced. All-on-4® is designed to restore stronger biting function, allowing patients to enjoy a wider range of foods.
Bone Preservation
When teeth are missing, jawbone shrinkage can occur. Dental implants used in All-on-4® stimulate the bone, which may help maintain bone structure over time — something dentures do not do.
Can full arch dental implants help if I have advanced gum disease?
Yes. If you have advanced gum disease (periodontitis) that has caused significant tooth loss or left your remaining teeth beyond saving, full-arch dental implants may provide a long-term solution. Depending on your individual circumstances, this may include a fixed treatment such as All-on-4® or an implant-supported overdenture.
Full-arch treatment replaces a complete upper or lower arch rather than treating each tooth individually. All-on-4® uses four strategically placed dental implants to support a fixed bridge, while overdentures are removable dentures that are securely supported by dental implants.
For many patients, these treatments can provide a more stable alternative to conventional dentures, helping improve comfort and confidence when eating, speaking and smiling. However, not everyone with gum disease requires full-arch treatment. Where your natural teeth can be successfully restored and maintained, preserving them is generally the preferred option.
A comprehensive assessment, including a clinical examination and 3D imaging, is required to understand your dental health, assess your remaining bone and determine which treatment options may be suitable for you.
How much does full arch dental implants cost in Queensland?
Understandably, this is one of our most frequently asked questions. The cost of full-arch treatment depends on the treatment option recommended for you, your individual dental needs and the complexity of your case.
All-on-4® costs from $27,990 for a single arch in Queensland. Anaesthetic fees are not included in this costing and are billed separately by the medical provider. These fees will be quoted to you prior to surgery and may be eligible for Medicare rebates.
Implant-supported overdenture costs will vary depending on your individual treatment plan, including the number and type of implants required and the denture design.
During your initial consultation at a Next Smile Australia clinic, we’ll assess your dental health, discuss your goals and explain the full-arch treatment options that may be suitable for you. If treatment is recommended, you’ll receive a detailed treatment plan and a clear breakdown of the associated costs before proceeding.

Across our Queensland network – including All-on-4® Brisbane and All-on-4® Gold Coast—every patient benefits from evidence-based treatment protocols, advanced digital planning, and comprehensive support from consultation through to long-term aftercare.
What if I've been told I don't have enough bone?
Being told you don’t have enough bone doesn’t necessarily mean you’re not a candidate for dental implants. The All-on-4® treatment concept uses strategically angled implants to maximise available bone, which can often reduce or eliminate the need for bone grafting.
For patients with more significant bone loss, additional treatment options – such as zygomatic implants may be suitable. Your dental surgeon will perform a comprehensive assessment, including 3D CBCT imaging, to evaluate your bone structure and recommend the most appropriate treatment for your individual needs.
Every patient is different, and suitability can only be determined following a thorough consultation with an experienced clinician.
What sedation options are available?
We understand that dental treatment can feel overwhelming, especially if you’re anxious about the procedure. Your comfort and wellbeing are important to us throughout your treatment.
Depending on your individual needs, medical history and treatment plan, there are different options to help you feel comfortable, including local anaesthetic, IV sedation or, where appropriate, treatment under general anaesthetic.
Your dental surgeon will take the time to understand your concerns and talk you through the options during your consultation, so you can feel informed, comfortable and confident about your treatment.
If you’re considering full-arch treatment in Queensland, our Brisbane and Gold Coast clinic provides personalised care from your initial consultation through to treatment and ongoing maintenance. Our team is here to answer your questions, understand your concerns and help you feel comfortable every step of the way.
