What Is Full-Arch Implant Treatment in queensland

What Are Full Arch Dental Implants?

Full-arch dental implant treatment – such as All-on-4®and Overdentures – is designed to replace an entire upper or lower row of teeth using a small number of strategically placed dental implants.

Rather than replacing every missing tooth individually, four titanium implants are placed within the jawbone to support a complete arch of fixed prosthetic teeth. This approach provides greater stability and function than traditional removable dentures while helping patients enjoy a more comfortable and confident lifestyle.

At Next Smile Australia, our Queensland clinicians use the proven MALO Protocol, regarded internationally as the gold standard for full-arch rehabilitation, to provide predictable long-term outcomes for suitable patients..

Full-Arch Dental Implants Queensland FAQs

All-on-4® dental implants are a fixed long-term solution for replacing a full set of missing or failing teeth.

Instead of replacing each tooth individually, this treatment uses just four strategically placed dental implants to support a full arch of fixed, natural-looking teeth. This means you can restore your smile with fewer implants and, in many cases, avoid more complex procedures like bone grafting.

All-on-4® is designed to give you a stable, comfortable alternative to dentures – so you can eat, speak, and smile comfortably again.

Key benefits include:

  • Fewer implants compared to traditional full-arch methods
  • Fixed teeth that are easy to care for
  • Proven success rates of up to 98%* in suitable patients

It follows the same trusted principles as traditional dental implants just in a more efficient and streamlined way.

Yes, All-on-4® was original design for patients who’s only options were dentures or traditional full mouth dental implants.

The All-on-4 treatment concept is a full-arch dental implant solution designed to replace an entire upper or lower set of teeth using four strategically placed implants to support a fixed bridge. Unlike traditional dentures, which sit on the gums and can move or require adhesives, All-on-4® teeth are fixed in place and secured to dental implants. Some benefits of All-on-4® over traditional dentures?

Stability
Traditional dentures rest on the gums and may shift when eating or speaking. All-on-4® is anchored to implants, providing significantly greater stability.

Comfort
Dentures can cause sore spots or rubbing over time. Because All-on-4® is supported by implants rather than sitting directly on the gums, many patients find it feels more secure and natural.

Function
With dentures, chewing efficiency can be reduced. All-on-4® is designed to restore stronger biting function, allowing patients to enjoy a wider range of foods.

Bone Preservation
When teeth are missing, jawbone shrinkage can occur. Dental implants used in All-on-4® stimulate the bone, which may help maintain bone structure over time — something dentures do not do.

Yes. If you have advanced gum disease (periodontitis) that has caused significant tooth loss or left your remaining teeth beyond saving, All-on-4® dental implants may provide a fixed, full-arch solution. Rather than replacing individual teeth, the treatment uses four strategically placed dental implants to support a full arch of fixed replacement teeth.

For many patients in Queensland, it offers a stable alternative to removable dentures, helping restore the ability to eat, speak and smile with confidence. However, not everyone with gum disease requires full-arch treatment. If teeth can be successfully restored, preserving your natural teeth is generally the preferred option.

A comprehensive assessment, including a clinical examination and 3D imaging, is required to determine whether All-on-4® is suitable for your individual circumstances.

Understandably, this is one of our most frequently asked questions.

All-on-4® costs from $27,900 for a single arch. Not included in this costing is the anaesthetic fees which are billed separately by the medical provider. Those fees will be quoted to you prior to your surgery and are eligible for Medicare rebates.

During an initial consultation at a Next Smile Australia clinic in Queensland, we fully examine your dental health and if we establish that All-on-4® is suitable for you, then we provide you with a detailed treatment plan and corresponding costs.

Who will perform my All-on-4® treatment in Queensland?

Your All-on-4® treatment in Queensland will be performed by our highly experienced implant surgeons and supported by a skilled multidisciplinary clinical team at Next Smile Brisbane and Next Smile Gold Coast.

Dr Tony Rotondo, founder of Next Smile Australia and a registered Specialist Prosthodontist, brings more than 30 years of experience in complex full-arch rehabilitation. A pioneer of the All-on-4® treatment concept in Queensland, Dr Rotondo has successfully completed more than 1,500 All-on-4® procedures and is recognised for delivering predictable functional and aesthetic outcomes.

Working alongside Dr Rotondo is Dr Franck Page, a highly experienced implant surgeon who has been practising on the Gold Coast for more than 20 years. Dr Page holds advanced postgraduate qualifications in clinical dental implants and has extensive surgical training through the Brånemark system. As a national trainer and lecturer for the Nobel Biocare implant system, he plays a key role in both the surgical delivery of All-on-4® treatment and the ongoing advancement of implant dentistry in Australia.

Patients on the Sunshine Coast and in Rockhampton can also access treatment through our trusted accredited partners, who are trained to deliver care using the same internationally recognised MALO Protocol and Next Smile Australia clinical standards.

Across our Queensland network – including All-on-4® Brisbane and All-on-4® Gold Coast—every patient benefits from evidence-based treatment protocols, advanced digital planning, and comprehensive support from consultation through to long-term aftercare.

Being told you don’t have enough bone doesn’t necessarily mean you’re not a candidate for dental implants. The All-on-4® treatment concept uses strategically angled implants to maximise available bone, which can often reduce or eliminate the need for bone grafting.

For patients with more significant bone loss, additional treatment options – such as zygomatic implants may be suitable. Your dental surgeon will perform a comprehensive assessment, including 3D CBCT imaging, to evaluate your bone structure and recommend the most appropriate treatment for your individual needs.

Every patient is different, and suitability can only be determined following a thorough consultation with an experienced clinician.

Your comfort is important throughout treatment. Depending on your individual needs, medical history and treatment plan, sedation pathways may include local anaesthetic, IV sedation or treatment under general anaesthetic where appropriate. Your dental surgeon will discuss the most suitable option during your consultation.
