Additionally, single dental implant treatment involves the placement of one implant at a time, with a healing period between each implant placement. Once the implants have integrated with the jawbone, individual crowns or bridges can be attached to replace missing teeth. This approach can be effective for treating individual missing teeth or smaller gaps in the smile, but it may not be the best option for patients who have lost all or most of their teeth in one or both arches.
As opposed to Next Smile Australia’s two-stage Malo Protocol, regular implants follow a five-stage process to receive implants as a form of dental restoration. The process is as follows:
- The damaged or decayed tooth is removed.
- Bone grafting is undertaken if needed.
- The dental implant is then surgically inserted into the jawbone.
- Over the next few months, the bone fuses with the implant and begins to heal.
- Once the area around the implant has healed, the artificial tooth (crown) is placed.
If you have multiple missing teeth and want to restore your smile, All-on-4® dental implants may be the solution for you.
