More than 2,000 delegates from across the Asia-Pacific region gathered in Bangkok for the prestigious Nobel Biocare APAC Symposium 2026, a world-class event bringing together the leading minds in implant dentistry, digital workflows and full-arch rehabilitation.
Among the keynote speakers, moderators and presenters were several clinicians from Next Smile Australia, proudly representing Australia on the global stage and contributing to discussions shaping the future of All-on-4® treatment and implant dentistry.
This wasn’t just a conference, it was a celebration of 60 years of implantology, a look ahead at AI-powered dentistry, and a powerful reminder of why we do what we do.
“It was a pleasure and honour to have been invited to be a keynote speaker and moderator at the Nobel Biocare APAC Symposium 2026,” shared Mr Rob Dulieu from our Sydney All-on-4® Clinic. “Catching up with world leaders is truly a privilege. Discussing techniques, outcomes and current trends in the profession is unquestionably one of the highlights of these meetings.”
One of the symposium’s standout sessions featured a panel moderated by Mr Rob Dulieu alongside internationally recognised leaders including Prof Paulo Malo, Dr Larry Benge, Prof Enrico Agliardi and Prof Jinming Wang.
Presented on one of the largest high-definition screens possible, the session explored the evolution and future of All-on-4® treatment concepts.
Topics included:
The session highlighted how modern implant dentistry continues to evolve through collaboration, innovation and evidence-based treatment planning.
Dr Caroline Kowalski and Mr Rob Dulieu, presented to a group of 40 clinicians and technicians from around the world on the importance of communication between clinic and laboratory teams.
The session explored practical communication checklists, workflow efficiencies and the evolving role of digital technologies in full-arch treatment planning.
Key discussions included:
The workshop also included a hands-on demonstration using advanced guided surgery and scanning technologies, including X-Guide navigation systems and the latest Dexis intraoral scanning technology.
A highlight of the session was the demonstration of the soon-to-be-released PoLo scan bodies, which had been undergoing beta testing over the past two years.
“Not all scanners are equal,” Rob explained – reinforcing the importance of selecting the right technology and workflow to improve treatment accuracy and long-term patient outcomes.
As part of the symposium program, Dr Lauren Fowler and Dr Evan Jones presented the course All-on-4® Surgical Principles.
Designed for implant clinicians, the program focused on teaching sound surgical principles for full-arch treatment through both lectures and hands-on training.
Key Topics Covered:
Participants also completed practical surgical exercises on models, allowing clinicians to apply techniques in a structured educational environment.
Across all sessions and workshops, a common theme emerged: modern implant dentistry is advancing rapidly, particularly through the integration of digital technologies and AI-assisted workflows.
Speakers throughout the symposium highlighted the growing relevance of artificial intelligence, digital planning and guided surgery in delivering more predictable outcomes for patients.
For clinicians, staying current with evolving workflows and technologies is becoming increasingly important in maintaining efficiency, precision and long-term treatment success.
The educational focus of these sessions was not simply on technology itself, but on how these advancements can improve patient care through:

The symposium also served as an opportunity for collaboration between Key Opinion Leaders and educators from around the world.
“It was exciting to see so many Next Smile Australia team members featured throughout the program, including presentations on the main stage,” reflected Dr Lauren Fowler – All-on-4®surgeon from our Next Smile Melbourne clinic.
As implant dentistry continues to evolve globally, events like the Nobel Biocare APAC Symposium provide an important platform for sharing knowledge, refining techniques and improving outcomes for patients worldwide.
For the Next Smile Australia team, the event reinforced the value of continued education, collaboration and innovation in advancing the future of full-arch implant treatment.
